Animation of dental implant supported dental crownAre you looking for an alternative to a traditional bridges, partials, or full dentures? Strong, beautiful results are possible with dental implants. This versatile restorative service can improve your smile and your health. Using one or more titanium implant posts as anchors, you can achieve beautiful, durable results. And at Peak Family Dentistry & Orthodontics, we can complete your entire implant procedure in our office, in most cases. Finally, restored function and appearance can be yours again.

What to Expect from the Implant Procedure

A full implant procedure is completed in two stages. In the first stage, Dr. Campbell will surgically place one or more implant posts into the jawbone. The number of posts we place will depend on how many teeth you need to restore. Afterward, we’ll let nature take its course and give the bone tissue in your jaw time to bond with your new implant post(s). Then Dr. Campbell will attach your brand-new, handcrafted restoration. Made just for you, your restoration will match your natural teeth and blend in seamlessly with your smile.

Why Are Tooth Roots Important?

When you lose a tooth, you also lose the root that anchored it to your jaw, resulting in bone loss over time. If your root isn’t replaced, you may eventually lose enough bone to put other teeth at risk. Dental implants will help you preserve and strengthen your jaw by doing the same work as a natural root—anchoring your restoration and promoting bone support. This is what makes dental implants so much more effective than traditional bridges, partials, and full dentures.

Are Dental Implants Right for Me?

Some patients may not initially be good candidates for dental implants because they don’t have enough bone to support the implant. Thankfully, dental implants may still be a possibility with a sinus lift or another procedure. Dr. Campbell would be happy to assess your situation and talk to you about the steps that can be taken to prepare your mouth for implant surgery. We would also be happy to talk to you about treatment alternatives.
