Laser Therapy

Beyond deep cleaning, our Westminster team uses a diode laser to treat gum disease. With laser therapy, Dr. Campbell can disinfect and seal deep periodontal pockets, reshape gums and cauterize blood vessels to stop bleeding. Therefore, a patient may experience less bleeding, swelling and discomfort with laser therapy, which is far less invasive than surgery.

Local administered Antibiotic

In specific instances, our team will apply a localized antibiotic to treat the infection that causes gum disease. When placed in a periodontal pocket (infected gums that surround a tooth), this locally placed antibiotic treats gum disease at the site without exposing the rest of the body to antibiotics.
